Project Overview

The campus includes three core and warm shell buildings, a seven-story parking structure with 1,133 stalls, and a dedicated amenity building featuring a fully equipped fitness center. With sustainability and wellness as guiding principles, the project is targeting LEED Gold, Fitwel, and WELL certifications, and is designed as an all-electric campus — aligning with California’s environmental goals.

Schuff Steel played a critical role in bringing this ambitious vision to life, fabricating and erecting 2,480 tons of structural steel for the project. The team’s contributions showcased precision, safety, and technical innovation, and included:

  • BIM Services: Utilizing advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to streamline coordination, increase accuracy in design execution, and support efficient construction sequencing.
  • BRB Integration: Installing Buckling-Restrained Braces (BRBs) to strengthen the structural system and enhance seismic performance — a key consideration in a seismically active region.

This project also earned Cal/VPP (California Voluntary Protection Program) status — a distinction granted to industry leaders who go beyond standard health and safety regulations. Achieving this recognition reflects the exemplary safety culture fostered by Truebeck Construction and its trade partners, including Schuff Steel. Through proactive implementation of best safety practices and continuous program compliance, the team set a new benchmark for safe and successful construction delivery.

ACLS Millbrae Station represents a modern standard in life science infrastructure — utilizing forward-thinking design, sustainable construction, and high-performance structural systems. Schuff Steel’s contributions to this landmark project affirm its role as a trusted partner in building the future of innovation in the Bay Area.
